USELESS INFO TUESDAY

~  The average human eyeball weighs just over a quarter of an ounce - 0.2645 ounce to be precise.

~  The state quarter representing Alabama issued in 2003 was the first U.S. circulating coin to have writing on it in Braille.  The coin features Helen Keller reading a Braille book, with her name written alongside in English and Braille.

~  Horse feathers are the long hairs that cover the lower fetlock (ankle joint) and hoof area.  Clydesdale horses have the thickest feathers.

~   A shotgun house is a one story house that's one room wide and at least three rooms deep, with no hallways between them.  Designed for hot climates (before air-conditioning), they allow breezes to blow straight through the home - just as a shotgun blast would be expected to pass straight through.
