USELESS INFO TUESDAY

~  The first players in the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League were required to attend Charm school classes during spring training.  The AAGPBL, which existed from 1943 to 1954, was memorialized in the 1992 film A League of Their Own.


~  Carnegie Mellon University, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, offers a performance degree in bagpipes.  The university, founded by Scottish-born steel magnate Andrew Carnegie, has offered the degree since 1990.


~  Susan Lucci was nominated 19 times for an Emmy Award before she finally won in 1999.


~  Violet is the color that has the shortest wavelength.  The visible colors, from shortest to longest wavelengths, are violet, blue, green, yellow, orange, and red.


~  In personal ads, the acronym DDF stands for Drug and Disease Free.
