HAPPY BIRTHDAY, POPPY
Friday was Jimmy's birthday. On Saturday we had a wonderful lunch with his children and grandbabies. (Jimmy is showing off a package of gummy worms)
You know I sat right between Luke and Tatum. I love every second of it. We had really good pizza at "The Village Pizza" on the square in Athens.

Fine China
CAKE
Here is Rachel's birthday cake....not exactly what I had planned, but cute enough. The taste was spot on. We get these cakes from a very old bakery in Decatur - Alwrights. They have the good old fashioned birthday cake taste. The icing is out of this world.
Happy Birthday Baby Girl - I think you are beautiful!

Happy Birthday Rachel!
19 years ago today, I was at Decatur General Hospital and had delivered a healthy baby girl by C-section. It was the most wonderful day of my life. I have had the pleasure of being Rachel's Mommy for all these years. I love her so, and am so proud of her.
One year ago today, we were sitting at a little cafe across the street from this building sharing a glass of wine and enjoying the scenery. Do you remember where we were? Um, try Rome! I would kill to be there right now, with or without Rachel (Hey - it is a dog eat dog world!).
Here is Rachel in St. Peter's square. We had just been blessed by the Pope. This was a Wednesday, so he was actually out in the square only about 75 yards from us, not just blessing us from the window of his home. It was a pretty special experience. It is weird because I am reading Dan Brown's "Angels and Demons" and a Cardinal (in the book) was just found murdered in this very spot - Neat.
Here she is in a very special place. Do you recognize it. The stairs kind of reming me of a stadium or an arena, except very old.....

POINT MALLARD
Yea for the beautiful weather this weekend. I was able to go swimming at Point Mallard both days. On Saturday, I went by myself and just sat out by the river. It was nice to relax, get some sun and read my book.
Sunday was a different story. Tims nieces are in town (Amanda's girls) - Olivia and Sarah. So on Sunday I went to the park with them and Miss Polly (Tim's mom). Let me just say, a rowdy water park is no place for a 40 year old, worn out, crazy woman. I was so worn out when I got home. We swam in the wave pool (and may I just add, this was the first wave pool ever - at least in the United States).
Then we moved on to the honking water slide! It was so fun! This picture really does not do it justice. The slide is like 4 stories tall. And it is bigger than you think from this picture. That little blob in the middle of the slide is two people going down on a raft that is about 3 foot by 6 foot. I got to ride with Sarah. The second time we came down so fast we slid right past the life guard and the rope. I had to reach back and grab his hand to reel us back in!
