~  In Roman Numerals, the year 2012 is MMXII.

~  In geography, a col is a gap or saddle like depression between mountain peaks that often serves as a pass.

~  Under federal law, a product must be made of at least 90% peanuts in order to be labeled as peanut butter.

~  A broken chain lies at the Statue of Liberty's feet, symbolizing Lady Liberty's freedom from oppression and bondage.  It is protruding from the bottom of the statue's robe and visible only from her torch or the sky above.

~  Vera Wand was inducted into the United States Figure Skating Hall of Fame in 2009.  Wang, a competitive figure skater in her youth, hung up her skates in 1968 after she failed to make the U.S. Olympic team.  She won admission into the hall of fame through her costume designs for skaters Michelle Kwan and Nancy Kerrigan.
